DevOps Engineer
Remote - Full
At Callin.io, we're building the voice AI infrastructure that powers the next generation of human-machine conversations. Our platform handles millions of conversation minutes, enabling businesses to deploy intelligent voice agents that feel genuinely natural. We're a small, senior team moving fast on hard problems — and we're looking for engineers who thrive in that environment.
As a DevOps Engineer at callin.io, you'll own the infrastructure that keeps everything running. That means the cloud architecture, the CI/CD pipelines, the monitoring stack, and the reliability practices that let us promise - and deliver - 99.9% uptime across global deployments. You won't be maintaining someone else's setup: you'll be shaping how we build, deploy, and scale our systems from the ground up.
This is a high-ownership role in a lean team.
You'll work closely with backend and ML engineers to make sure the infrastructure keeps pace with a product that's growing fast. If you care about reliability as a craft and take uptime personally, you'll fit right in.
Own and evolve Callin.io's cloud infrastructure across one or more major providers (AWS, GCP, Azure), with a focus on performance, cost, and reliability
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines that let the engineering team ship fast and safely
Manage containerized workloads with Kubernetes and Docker, ensuring stability and scalability under load
Write and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform or CloudFormation — no manual interventions, no snowflake servers
Build and operate the monitoring, alerting, and observability stack so issues are caught before users notice them
Lead incident response, post-mortems, and the continuous improvement of our reliability practices
Work toward and maintain 99.9% uptime SLAs across all production environments globally
4+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering, with production systems you've owned end to end
Strong hands-on expertise with at least one major cloud provider — AWS, GCP, or Azure — and a solid grasp of networking, IAM, and managed services
Deep experience with Kubernetes and Docker in production environments at non-trivial scale
Proficiency with infrastructure as code — Terraform, CloudFormation, or equivalent — you don't click around in consoles to make things happen
A reliability-first mindset: you think about failure modes before they happen, and you build systems that degrade gracefully
Clear communication and comfort working autonomously in an async, fully remote environment
Experience designing and operating multi-region deployments with low-latency routing and failover
Familiarity with carrier-grade or telco infrastructure — understanding of how uptime requirements differ at that level
Background working alongside real-time audio or voice systems, where latency and packet loss have direct user impact
Experience with FinOps practices — optimizing cloud spend without compromising reliability
Infrastructure that actually matters. Voice AI has zero tolerance for downtime. When our systems are up, millions of conversations happen. When they're not, people notice immediately. The bar is real — and so is the satisfaction of meeting it.
Full ownership. You won't be handed a runbook and told to follow it. You'll define how we operate, what our standards are, and how we improve over time.
Async-first, fully remote. Work from wherever you do your best thinking. We care about outcomes, not office hours.
A growing platform with real scale. We're not running toy infrastructure. Global deployments, real-time audio routing, and AI workloads — the technical surface is broad and the problems are genuinely interesting.
Competitive compensation. Salary benchmarked to senior DevOps and SRE roles at top-tier tech companies, regardless of your location.
